Response from Taimur Rahman
Dear Jamhoor,
I was utterly shocked to read the statement on your interview with Syed Azeem that I supported the US occupation of Afghanistan. This is blatantly false and completely contrary to the facts. In fact, the facts are completely the reverse.
Following 911, I campaigned for while a student at Sussex University against the war and occupation. Sussex University developed one of the largest anti-war campaigns thanks in part to our relentless campaign.
Upon returning to Pakistan I continued to campaign against the occupation of Afghanistan and Iraq. And wrote frequently against the occupation.
In 2013 I went to Afghanistan and wrote an eye witness account against the occupation in EPW.
I also made a music video against the occupation.
I consider the claim that I supported that war and occupation a complete slander, totally false, in fact diametrically opposed to the facts. I hope that you will print this in the article where this claim is made so that this slander to my reputation is removed from my name.
